Stars Night 2025: a cosmic evening at Euro Space Center

Euro Space Center invites visitors of all ages to a new edition of Stars Night. Join us this August for the peak of the Perseids, one of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year — with up to 100 meteors per hour streaking across a summer sky perfect for discovery.

New in 2025 – Highlights of the evening

Talks (only in French)

  • 6:30 p.m. – “Listening to shooting stars with the BRAMS project” – Hervé Lamy (IASB)
Step into the fascinating world of meteors: what are these so-called shooting stars, how can we observe them… and even more surprisingly, how can we listen to them? This talk reveals the inner workings of the BRAMS project, a Belgian radio detection network for meteors, along with the MOMSTER and Radio Meteor Zoo initiatives — engaging both scientists and citizens in a collaborative effort to study these celestial visitors. A captivating encounter between science, technology and public participation.

    8:00 p.m. – “Auroras – A Belgian specialty too?” – Gaël Cessateur (IASB)
Dive into the heart of auroras and discover how solar activity shapes our universe. Led by Belgian researchers, this fascinating talk combines science, spectacular imagery and practical advice for your own aurora-hunting adventures!

    9:30 p.m. – “Travelling through space with LUNAR·X” – André Füzfa (UNamur)
Euro Space Center’s new immersive attraction simulates a high-speed one-way mission from Earth to the Moon. Sounds simple? Not quite… This talk explores the Explorer-1 flight plan and teaches you the basics of spaceflight and the dangers of cis-lunar space. From the powerful liftoff at Cape Frimout to delicate orbital transfers, lunar landing maneuvers, and even plan B options in case of failure — Euro Space Center has thought of everything and shows you what it really takes to reach the Moon.
